Autumn already – can you believe it! I don’t know about you, but the Crystal Clean team have definitely noticed a drop in temperature over the last couple of weeks. So now is a perfect time to start taking extra care to prevent slips and trips as well as spreading nasty bugs.
There are numerous things you can do in addition to keeping your place of work clean. Simple things like reducing the risk of accidents, slips and trips by ensuring that all hats, scarf’s and coats are hung up rather than placed over chairs. They can not only get caught up in the wheels but can also be a trip hazard.
Umbrellas are a Godsend outside when the weather is bad but inside they are a different matter when not stored safely – make sure you have a stand to put them in instead of laying them on the floor where they can be tripped over or slip on any water that runs off them.
Place a mat in reception to wipe wet and dirty feet on – I know this sounds obvious but they really can reduce not only the chances of slips on wet floors but they will also help keep your floor clean too. You can even buy branded matting now.
Keeping your gutters clean and preventing leaves from building up will help reduce blockages and help rainwater drain away easily.
A box of tissues – again another no brainer, we all remember the NHS campaign ‘Catch it, kill it, bin it’ by catching sneezes in tissues and then binning them reduces the amount of bugs flying around the office – after all, no-one wants to have flu, colds and sore throats do they!
Wash your hands – washing your hands properly using soap or a hand sanitizer is one of the best ways you can stop the spread of bugs both at home or work, it is very easy to cross-contaminate surface areas such as desktops, phones, keyboards etc. if you see your cleaner or a team member using the same cloth to clean your kitchen, desktop and toilets – be worried as the chances of cross-contamination will be very, very high.
Our clients know we are passionate about cleaning and hygiene and we take the time to ensure that they work in safe, hygienic environments. We also do what we can to help prevent any accidents as well as reduce the number of team members being poorly thereby reducing the productivity of the company, if you are unhappy with your current cleaners or would like a review of your cleaning requirements then please get in touch and we will be happy to help.
